Rust and gold, a go-to color combo.

Rust Urban Outfitters wool floppy hat, Gold H&M crochet sweater, Brown thrifted belt, Black/Red Target floral lace dress, Tawny Aldo clog boots.

The weather was truly strange this weekend, it was hazy and foggy yet super warm and humid?  Otherwise, I've been yearning to share with you my new purchase!  The Urban Outfitters wool floppy hat in rust has been all over the blogosphere and I just haad to get my hands on it before I knew it would be sold-out.  This definitely fit my small head better than the American Apparel one (it was WAAY to big for me).  I don't know why, but I've been gravitating toward this fall color combo lately, odd for Spring right?  Or maybe it's just because of this dull cold/rainy weather we've been having lately? I'll frolick in light soft neutrals once the sun comes out :).
I bought these Aldo clog boots a while back, they're my fave not only bc I love the color but they make me extra tall :).  I also never tried to layer over a sweater over a dress before, but hopefully it turned out all right?

Wanted to share with you the big news I've been waiting to tell you!!  Alright, so I think I still have to save the other one as a secret for now (it's still in the works!), buut, I'll share with you the other one.  I was contacted by Candy Mag, a leading teen magazine in the Philippines, to be featured in their June 2011 issue!!  I'm just so excited! Especially to be in print, omg I'm still in awe :).
For more updates, I wanted to ask you, my readers, of your opinions, I seriously trust all your opinions ;)..in the last post I mentioned my boyfriend won me a $300 gift certificate to a high-end salon, Edo Salon, in SF.  I wanted to know what you think about these hair styles below..the ombre/balayage hair trend?  You think I could possibly pull it off?  Or if you have any other suggestions of what to color or do with my hair, let me know! But, sorry to disappoint, for some of you, I don't want to cut my hair lol (keeping it long/with bangs).
Yay or Nay?
Alrighty lovelies, hope everyone's weeks will be off to a great start!! Definitely let me know how your weekends went too :). & once again, thanks so much to all new aand past followers, sending the biggest hug everr over the blogosphere to you right now ;).

<3, Kathleen.

I love your hat! it's funny, I bought a cheap one recently and I seriously got addicted immediately, ha :)
and OMG that is CRAZY/GREAT/AWESOME news!!! I hope you post pictures once you've taken the pictures for the mag!! congrats girl :) you seem to have worked hard to be earning these things. as for the hair, I really like Bilson's color! go for that one hehe.

PS- re: I saw that same jewelry holder in UO but it's ridiculously priced :< at least for me. I'm (also) a budget babe! ;P

have a great week Kathleen!

Ah Congrats on getting the feature in Candy Magazine. That's amazing, girl <3 I'm so happy for you.

AND GAHHH GET A PIXIE CUT KATHLEEN! I sound so insane, but I think you would look awesome. But if you really don't want to cut your hair, the ombre/two-tone look that Rachel Bilson has is cute. If I were you, I'd totally get a perm though - to get my hair permanently wave-y so I don't have to wake up early to curl it every morning.

I am so obsessed with that hat. Every time I go in the Urban store, I look at it, feel it, try it on, but never end up buying it! You make me want to buy it! Looks so awesome with your outfit!

Congrats on the magazine feature!! I love the hat and you did a very good job with the sweater over dress look :)

I don't really know how I feel about the ombre hair trend, I think it might look better with wavy/curls than super straight hair. You should give it a try if you want! I guess you'll never know if it will work out for you until it's on your own head haha

I have the same Deena & Ozzy (UO) hat too, except in black! The rust color looks pretty on you, and I really like that lovely floral dress playing peek-a-boo.

Congrats on being featured in the magazine! And I think you can pull of the hairstyle from the picture of Jessica Biel. New haircuts are always exciting!

1. I love the color of that hat!! It really suits you to a T!

2. CONGRATS on the mag KC- you deserve it of course :)

3. I think you could totally pull off the ombre hair as long as it leans towards Bilson's style there. I think Jessica Biel's is a little too light. It shouldn't be brown/blonde. It should be a shade or two lighter than your color. Can't wait to see what you decide- way to win bf!!

I like the layering of the sweater with your dress, it looks good! no worries ^-^ also your clog boots are sooo great!
I am sure you would look great with your hair done like that! It would actually look really good I think because you have straight hair, and for some reason the curly hair with that style looks like you dyed your hair blond and it is growing out.. like roots are showing big time.. do you know what I mean? lol anyways I think you would look cute for sure with it!! (and I think it is a good idea to stick with bangs, you rock them hard)
