Freda Salvador: Spring 2014 Preview at Scribe Winery

With the lovely designers of Freda Salvador, Megan Papay and Cristina Palomo-Nelson
Trunk show of their new Spring 2014 collection
Last Friday, I was invited to preview the Freda Salvador 2014 Spring Collection and to attend a mini field trip out to Sonoma Scribe Winery.  The event started right when we arrived at their Union St. flagship store -- was greeted by a chic model army wearing bejeweled face masks and beautiful shoes.  After viewing their current collection at their store and enjoying some breakfast including delicious pastries from Marla Bakery and juice from Pressed Juicery SF, we went on a bus to travel to Sonoma.  Inside there was also a surprise with small tin lunch boxes with snacks and the Freda Salvador logo labeled on top, was too cute!

I think the event was so successful because we were able to venture out of the city (what we're so used to) to instead an entirely new place, being Scribe Winery -- even better we enjoyed wine tasting on a beautiful Indian summer day and nature all around. The wine and chardonnay were so refreshing along with the pairing of cheese and bread (say cheese, and I'm always there).

After we previewed the new Spring 2014 collection, we were ready to try on the shoes! I ended up picking this black bootie with the black fabric contrast in the front and back.  I love how the boot also has side cut-outs and a mini heel for extra height but also comfort.  I loved the collection especially because it had unique patterns/prints: snake skin (in different colors, the blue was gorgeous) and fringe on some of the sandals.  All was completely wearable and I could see them fit in with my wardrobe perfectly.

A big thank you to Freda Salvador for this amazing event, it was probably one of the biggest highlights of my year.  Can't wait to see more from them as their designs are amazing!  Be sure to check out FredaSalvador.com for more of their shoes (in their current collection, they have some leopard booties I'm dying for too!).  Also, get to know the designers, Megan and Cristina, behind the brand more here.

Hope you lovelies have a great week ahead!

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: SHN Broadway Show Recap

I recently had the great opportunity to attend the newest SHN Broadway musical, "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" at the Orpheum theatre, and to take a sneak-peek in the behind the scenes making of the show's beautiful wardrobe.  Also in great company with fellow SF bloggers, we went backstage right before the show with Gillian Austin, wardrobe supervisor of Priscilla, who gave us a wonderful tour to view the musical's out-of-this-world costumes (they were amazing!).  First up we saw the cupcake costumes.  They described creating the cupcakes out of venetian blinds to use as the cupcake holders -- I loved how they were super creative in the design process.  We found out too some of the head-pieces the characters wear surprisingly weigh about 8 pounds, pretty heavy -- and imagine they wear it while dancing all over stage..aand in heels!  I think one of my favorite costumes they showed were the paint brushes -- really cute, pink, and even with a matching paint hat.  Okay, and I can't forget about the Barbie print blazer -- amazing and I wish I had that too.
After going backstage, we played around with their fun high-tech photobooth in the lobby.  I loved the idea of projecting the photos on the wall to make the show more interactive with the audience.  Time flew and the show started -- it was such a fun, colorful and vibrant musical.  I loved how all the songs were not only catchy but also brought me back to when I was a little girl (my mom used to play these songs on repeat, loved these) -- some of them being Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and Madonna's "Material Girl."  The biggest highlight of course of the show were all the drag queens -- the feathers, sequins, glitter, and sassy attitudes really made the show stand-out resulting in such a fun diva atmosphere.
I'd like to give a big shoutout and thank you to SHN for hosting such a fun event, had an amazing time!!  Hope you lovelies enjoyed this recap post and definitely if you haven't yet and you're in the SF area, visit the Orpheum theatre and enjoy Priscilla the musical!

Inspirafashion x pancakeSTACKER + LuLu*s Outside Lands 2013 Recap #lulusatOL

We came, we saw, we conquered..at Outside Lands 2013 with LuLu*s!  Spending the entire weekend, three-days at OL this year was really such a memorable, fun, and amazing experience.  I was so happy to collaborate with my partner in crime, Chanda and team up with LuLu*s on an instagram take-over to give you an inside peek of this year's fest!

Day one, we took an obligatory Wind Mills pic, enjoyed the sounds of Band of Horses, Rhye, Pretty Lights, and ended the night with Yeasayer and Paul McCartney.  Ultimately my favorite band was Rhye, the addition of a violin just makes the music so intriguing and not to mention the lead singer's voice is out of this world beautiful.

Day two, I had my first try of crispy mac and cheese (freakin' amazing!).  Gave away some amazing LuLu*s prizes throughout the weekend to fashionable festival-goers.  Saw memorable sets like Young the Giant, Nine Inch Nails, Grizzly Bear, Baauer, and Phoenix.
Day three, we danced our hearts away to Vampire Weekend, Hall & Oates, Emeli Sande, and appropriately ended the entire weekend with an amazing show by Red Hot Chili Peppers.  In between everything we visited different tents -- got free ice cream, took photobooth pics (our favorite), and ate a LOT of delicious food (funnel cake, banh mi sandwiches, and yummy mozzarella spinach pizza, just to name a few).
Just wanted to thank again LuLu*s for an amazing opportunity to cover Outside Lands 2013 and to share our #MheerKat adventures on their instagram with everyone.  We had a blast all weekend!!  Thank you also lovelies for sharing in our #LuLusatOL feed on Instagram!  We hope you enjoyed the weekend! xoxo

P.S. Big congrats to the winner of the LuLu*s Festival Re-gram Contest, Laura! Thanks everyone who entered!

Ok'd x Inspirafashion: Date-Night

Cobalt blue Lush lace dress via Nordstrom, White vintage Chanel purse, Dream bracelet and bow tie ring via Francesca's Colllections, Nude Steve Madden heels, Makeup: lashes via MAC.

Lovelies! I'm so excited to share with you a fun collaboration I did with Ok'd, an upcoming iPhone app which incorporates a simple and safe way to ask for or give money on your mobile device. I partnered with Ok'd for a fun mini shopping spree and to show you how it works!
When using Ok’d, you can walk into a store, snap a picture of an item, and send it to a parent, employer, friend, and ask them to pay for it. I was so amazed at how easy the steps were to use the app when walking into the store -- a very user-friendly app, which I really appreciate being an avid social media user.

Basically, the app generates a temporary prepaid credit card/barcode that can be shown to cashiers and redeemed at the point of purchase.  To see how it actually looks and works, we took some screen shots of the app along with using the app on the day.

1) Find what you want to buy. 2) Take a pic.

3) Create an ask. 4) Ask for money.

5) Get funded. 6) Tap redeem and get a temporary credit card.

7) Show cashier.

I decided it would be fun to have a theme for the items I bought for that day.  I picked "Date Night," and ended up styling this look - went for cool with the cobalt blue yet romantic with the lace.  I chose different items for this Date Night look -- including a lace dress from Lush I found at Nordstrom's, nude heels at Steve Madden, Dream bracelet and bow ring from Francesca's Collections, and makeup isn't complete without pretty lashes from MAC.

Hope you lovelies enjoyed this post!  Can't wait to hear what you guys bought with this app!  Feel free to tweet  and facebook us pictures of what you bought with Ok'd App! Happy shopping!! :)

P.S. Stay tuned for another post with Ok'd!  This time I'll be getting back into YouTube, so doing a video of how to use the app! The video will be posted next week. Can't wait to share :).
