Grunge glam.

Navy blue American Apparel crop top, Gold spike necklace c/o Jeweliq, Navy Zara skirt (similar cute leopard style) and plaid shirt (similar style), Brown leopard clutch c/o DAAME, Brown fox wrap bracelet c/o Jeweliq, Black studded heels c/o Choies (white and red versions).

A trend I can definitely say I have grown fond of and that has shown up multiple times this past NYFW are crop tops.  I think we could thank the gorgeous Liv Tyler from Empire Records (a fave movie too!) for setting the foundation of this great trend.  In addition, bringing back the 90's, loving the plaid and shirts tied around the waist this season.  This print is definitely one of my favorites for Fall.
I love mixing prints, so decided here to pair plaid with a hint of leopard.  And to add to the grungy feel, I accessorized with a spike necklace and these gorgeous studded heels from Choies.

Vidal Sassoon x Chictopia: "Show Your Genius" - Look 2: Sweet Glam

Second up to this Vidal Sassoon x Chictopia series,
"Sweet Glam, Night Out" Look
White Agaci polka dot dress, Red c/o Hobo International 'Zara' clutch, Tan c/o Steve Madden MARLENEE heels.

Here, I used these Vidal Sassoon products:
I wanted to have more fun with this look and was kind of inspired by (everyone's new fave movie) The Great Gatsby along with beachy hippie hair ;).  And having short hair, I love curling it and having it reminiscent of those flapper girl 1920's hair styles.  The hippie vibe came from creating the side braids.
In other words, Hippie meets Gatsby.

First, I used the Vidal Sassoon MOISTURE One Minute Mask, after applying to damp hair and combing through in the shower, I rinsed it thoroughly.  After, I applied the Vidal Sassoon REPAIR Heat & Protect Shine Spray all over the ends before applying any heat to my hair.  Right after blow drying, my hair felt so silky and soft, I could run my hand through it without any tangles.  I then started to curl my hair alternating between inward and outward curls for volume.  After each curl, I also applied the Vidal Sassoon EXTRA FIRM HOLD Hairspray which held the curls tightly without any frizzy hair as well.  Next the curls helped to create the braids and hold them together too -- ended it off with tying them to the back with a little clip.

After styling my hair with curls all over, I decided to style it with a sweet party night out outfit.  This white polka dot dress from Agaci was perfect for the hair style I created.  Both the polka dot dress and curly hair were perfect for a sweet yet glam night look.

If you haven't yet, enter Vidal Sassoon's fun contest HERE -- share your own hair style look and be entered to win one of many prizes, $1,000 to complete your look, and a year's supply of Vidal Sassoon Pro Series!  Also, feel free to check out my Chictopia posts on the series as well here.

Hope you lovelies enjoyed this two-part post!  My very first set of beauty-meets-fashion posts :).
Keep inspiring Beautifuls!

Fading flower.

Embracing Spring with open arms...describes this outfit perfectly, with an office lady-like twist.  I noticed I haven't shared my work outfits on my blog yet, so this pays tribute to what was long overdue. I usually love wearing high-waisted pencil skirts with fun printed blouses.  The satchel is one of my ultimate faves from Tory Burch.  To top the outfit off, are these sleek yet classy Steve Madden Realove  heels.  And of course, my favorite sunnies, Karen Walker Number One's.

I'm so excited for few things coming up..this weekend I'm seeing Rihanna and A$AP Rocky in concert with my fave girl Chanda.  Then we're heading with couple of friends to Coachella next weekend!!  I'm so ready to enjoy the 95 degree weather (a.k.a. over this bay area gloomy rainy weather!).  Be sure to follow me on my instagram for my Coachella adventures (and I'll be guest-gramming for Crossroads Trading on Friday, April 12th!).

Have an amazing weekend ahead Beautifuls! Ahh it's Friday and the weekend's here ;).

P.S. Continuing the tradition of song titles for blog post titles. One of my faves from Yuna.

A floral afternoon.

This is the epitome of embracing the beautiful Spring season -- pretty flowers all around and the warm sun.  I cannot wait for more days like this.  This dress in particular is gorgeous with the cut-outs from LuLu*s; aand they named it perfectly "Afternoon In The Park."
In addition to what compliments this dress with great contrast are these beautiful Steve Madden Rebuttle heels.  These sandal heels are so perfect for spring and summer, I can't wait to wear them more often.  Something that caught my eye as well was the metallic gold heel (amazingg).
I had the pleasure of shooting with one of my good friends, we go way back from our high school days, Matthew Liu (see more of his sweet photography here), I love how he shot this look with warm tones.  We visited for the first time at Berkeley Botanic Gardens -- which btw, if you've never been, please go! It's amazing with such pretty scenery and flowers all over.

This week went relatively fast -- I love how time flies, which means I'm having some type of fun ;).  I attended a recent Macy's spring fashion event, and did something major by attending an info session for the UC Berkeley Haas MBA program (I'm planning on going back to school soon!), and here and there catching up with friends over dinner.

Happy Friday beautifuls!! Enjoy your weekend!

Vibrant jewels.

Teal lace top via Crossroads Trading, Green c/o Mimi Boutique collar necklace, Red c/o Filthy Magic floral skater skirt, Orange Calvin Klein sandal heels, Purple c/o Mimi Boutique Cassie clutch.

One trend I find the most fun and interesting is color blocking -- here I decided to play around with a mix of different vibrant jewel tone colors: purple, orange, red, and green.  With fashion I always try to have fun, kind of like a painting putting all the pieces, colors, silhouettes together.  This outfit I styled probably shows how much I love art (I hope to get back into it soon) -- I used to love doing artwork with pastels or charcoal.

With color blocking, I decided to pair this beautiful purple clutch from Mimi Boutique with this out of this world lovely skirt from Filthy Magic.  To top it off (literally haha) I paired it with this amazing lace teal top via Crossroads Trading.  And no outfit is complete without the perfect pair of shoes -- these Calvin Klein orange sandal heels.

Hope you lovelies have an amazing weekend ahead! Have fun in the sun (if it's sunny where you are) or just chillax.. cheers to the freakin' weekend ;).
