Vidal Sassoon x Chictopia: "Show Your Genius" - Look 1: Sleek Chic

Blue floral blouse tank top via Crossroads Trading, White c/o GUESS rhinestone necklace, Ivory vintage Chanel crossbody purse, Light blue HM skinny jeans, White Tildon heels.

I'm so excited to share with you lovelies my first beauty-meets-fashion post on Inspirafashion!
I recently was asked by Vidal Sassoon x Chictopia to participate in their campaign called "Show Your Genius."  Here, I was able to show my creative side with unique hair style creations using Vidal Sassoon products.

Also, I've entered Vidal Sassoon's fun contest on their Facebook, be sure to enter too HERE lovelies!  You can share your own hair style look and be entered to win one of many prizes, $1,000 to complete your look, and a year's supply of Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Also, feel free to check out my Chictopia posts on the series as well here.

I've always loved creating different hair styles especially when I had longer hair, but now having shorter hair, it was a fun and new experience creating different hair styles.
I decided it'd be fun to show a bit variety by creating two different hair style looks -- one as a casual daytime look and the other for night or going out.  Hope you liked the first part of this series!
First up, "Sleek Chic and 'Faux' Side-Swept" Look

I decided to use these three products from Vidal Sassoon's Pro Series:
After washing my hair with Vidal Sassoon's Moisture Lock shampoo and conditioner, my hair felt super soft, and fresh and clean.  After, I did a quick blow dry using a round brush. I usually have blunt straight across bangs, so I thought it'd be hard to have "faux" side-swept bangs.  But with the help of Vidal Sassoon's Mega Firm Hold Gel, they were manageable and held my bangs to the side after applying the product and sweeping the bangs to the side with a small tooth comb.  Not to mention, the product smells SO GOOD.  I think I'd compare it to sweet candy or a mix of floral scents.

With this Casual straight hair style, I decided to keep it simple and style a pretty floral printed blouse from Crossroads Trading with high-waisted jeans, along with all white accessories: rhinestone necklace, Chanel purse, and sleek pointy white heels.

Hope you enjoyed the first look :).  Stay tuned for part 2 this week!  The second look I created as a "Glam" hair style you can wear on a night-out.

Hope you're having a great week Beautifuls!

Easy breezy.

White Urban Outfitters kimono top (similar here), Brown Brandy Melville dress (similar here), Tan Rebecca Minkoff mini Mac, Black Steve Madden 'Realove' sandal heels.

Quick outfit post of comfy elements and an easy breezy look for warmer days we've been having in the bay area.  I love wearing loose & sheer flowy pieces for this type of weather.  Accessories include RM mini mac and sleek Steve Madden Realove heels.
Surprisingly I think this is the first time really I wore my hair straight in a while. It's getting so long...thinking of maybe growing it out again? I constantly go through this phase of being bored with my hair ;P.

Hope you lovelies are doing well!  Can you believe it's May already?! Just last year this time I graduated from UC Berkeley. Time flies like crazy..which is why I try to take to heart the quote "Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by every moment that takes your breath away."

Cotton candy.

Purple blouse via Crossroads Trading, Gold vintage Chanel pin, Pink American Apparel high-waisted shorts, Ivory vintage Chanel purse, Arm candy: gifted Free bracelet from BCBGeneration, Gold armor ring via Crossroads Trading, Tan Zara sandals.

Besides mixing prints, I have this never ending love for mixing fun colors -- this particular purple and pink combo always reminds me of cotton candy, or even that watermelon candy (my favorite). Accessorizing probably is my favorite part in creating outfits.  I love how this blouse from Crossroads Trading comes with a chain connecting the collar -- an instant necklace. To add to it as well, I placed my gold vintage Chanel pin as a sort of bow-tie.  And introducing another new shoe to add to my zara collection, meet these pretty nude/white sandals (reminiscent of Chloe's I am dying for).  I thank Zara to fulfill my love for cray expensive shoes.

Hope you have a great start of your week lovelies! I'm loving how it's getting to 90 degrees in the bay area this week. FINALLY sun and warm weather.

Heaven is a place on earth with you.

Photography by Ryan Chua

Pale yellow c/o LuLu*s lace dress (black version here, similar coral one here), White c/o Guess rhinestone necklace, Arm candy: silver c/o Filthy Magic spike bracelet, Ivory vintage Chanel purse, Tan Zara sandal heels.

For Spring, in particular, I'm loving pastels (I know very cliche) but that and floral patterns just scream this pretty season for fashion.  I decided to accessorize with white and gold tones.  This pale yellow lace dress from LuLu*s is such a beauty, I love how it has this cool sporty racer back too.  Decided to wear out my fave new Zara sandal heels.
I had the pleasure of shooting again with my fave Ryan Chua, was such a pretty day in Golden Gate Park.  I can't wait for more sun to soak up!  Hope you lovelies had a great weekend!

Btw lovelies, excited to share that I will be going to Coachella this year!!!  I can't wait to share with you my desert adventure..which brings me to exciting news. I'm teaming up with Crossroads Trading on guest-gramming ;) pics during that time.  Be sure to check out their instagram on April 12th!

P.S. Blog title is from Lana Del Rey's "Video Games," think I'll just continue with song lyrics that reflect the mood of each outfit post.  It's fun too to share what songs/artists I love :).
Also! Congrats to Jessica from Bows & Sequins on winning the Alyssa Nicole skate skirt! Stay tuned lovelies for more fun giveaways to come!

Clouds part, Just to give us a little sun.

Light pink/blue c/o Papaya Clothing stud blouse, Gold vintage Chanel pin, Silver c/o Jeweliq earrings, Light blue H&M jeans, Pink c/o JewelMint abacus wrap bracelet, Ivory vintage Chanel purse, Tan Zara sandal heels

I've always loved blouses and when I found this one from Papaya Clothing -- a combination of pastel blue and pink top (perfect for Spring), I was intrigued mostly by the studded collar.  I find that with my style growing I gravitate toward having also fun with accessories; I was inspired lately by Atlantic Pacific, genius on placing a pin at the collar, a cool spin-off from a bow tie.  Also, I don't wear earrings often but I am loving these silver wing earrings from Jeweliq, their collection of ear candy is amazing!  Currently, eyeing these beauties.
For shoes, I cannot tell you enough how much I love the shoes at Zara (their quality is durable aand more importantly comfortable).  I think most of my closet has Zara haha, I can't help but walk into there to "window shop," and come out with so many items.

These next few months are going to be way too much fun -- because it involves a lot of travel and music festivals, concerts, and so much more (mostly with my lovely partner in crime, Chanda).  I can't wait to wear more summer outfits also, festival inspired.  Which btw, I am going to host an exciting giveaway soon, hint: music festival inspired.  Stay tuned lovelies!

And speaking of giveaways, excited to announce the winner of the Jeweliq giveaway: congrats to Sassy from  Strictly For The Dance Floor!
Have an amazing rest of the week loves! Friday is almost heeeereeee (sry getting excited bc this week has been too long!!)
P.S. Blog title is from "Limit To Your Love" by Feist, such a sweet song -- definitely recommend :).

Rose romance.

Pink ASOS rosette strapless dress, Arm candy: Pale blue c/o LuLu*s bracelet, Ivory c/o Charlotte Russe rose wrap bracelet, gold rings via Crossroads Trading, Ivory stone ring c/o Beginning Boutique, Ivory vintage Chanel clutch, Nude c/o Steve Madden Marlenee sandal heels.

If I could relive Valentine's Day again, I'd have a sweet picnic date out in Napa somewhere involving wine tasting & maybe this would be the dress I'd take out...everything about it is so romantic and beautiful (I thankfully found it in the sale section while online shopping on ASOS).
The important part of accessorizing for this dress is to keep everything soft and subtle -- I paired accessories with golds and interestingly a pretty pale blue color with this LuLu*s bracelet (lovely pastels for Spring).  The perfect shoes to top off the outfit were these sandal Marlenee heels from Steve Madden.

For the shoot, decided to go with a romantic pretty setting at the Berkeley Botanic Gardens again (seriously can't wait to visit again once everything is in bloom this May).  Once again lovely photography by Matthew Liu, Sight Through Glass Photography :).
